Ingredients
- 20 Small - Medium Sized Prawns
- 1 Small Coconut (Grated)
- 2 Onion (Chopped)
- 5-8 Dry Red Chilli
- 1 Tbsp Coriander Seeds
- 1 Tbsp Tamarind
- 1 Tbsp Oil
- 1 Green Chilli (Chopped)
- Salt To Taste
Method
Add the grated coconut, onion, red chilli (dry), coriander seeds, tamarind, turmeric, salt and a cup of water in the mixer grinder and grind for 10 minutes until you have a very smooth paste.
Add more water to the paste if required, it should neither be too thick nor too liquidy. Once the paste is ready with the required smooth consistency, set it aside.
Take a saucepan and add oil, onion and green chilli and fry that until it turns slightly golden. Now add the prawns and fry all for another 5 minutes.
After that, if necessary, add water the curry paste and boil for about 10 minutes on low heat.
Your Prawn Curry is ready. Serve it with Rice.
If you desire, add 2 pieces of Kokum to the curry during the last 5 minutes of cooking. It will add a slightly tangy taste to your curry.
